Big Band info
A big band is a large jazz orchestra typically consisting of 17 to 20 musicians. The lineup usually includes saxophones (5), trumpets (4), trombones (4), and a rhythm section (piano, bass, drums, and guitar). Big bands are especially known for the swing music of the 1930s and 1940s, but their repertoire can range from traditional jazz to funk, Latin rhythms, and contemporary compositions.
